The INLCP Conference

First INLCP Conference: November 2018

The first conference for the International Network for Language Centers and Programs (INLCP) will be held in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras from Monday, November 5, 2018 until Friday, November 9, 2018. This conference is for the directors of the language centers and programs. The conference schedule is as follows:

Monday, November 5: Arrival to San Pedro Sula, Honduras, take a bus to Santa Rosa de Copan

Tuesday, November 6: Directors present on a specific topic, members connect virtually to the presentations

Wednesday, November 7: Election of INLCP Executive Board, first planning meeting to follow elections

Thursday, November 8: Tour of Maya Heritage Sites

Friday, November 9: Travel back to San Pedro Sula, departure from San Pedro Sula, Honduras

The Conference will be aired virtually via Facebook Live on our facebook page: International Network of Language Centers and Programs.

Webinars provide an opportunity for educators all around the world to listen to specialists talk about different aspects of language centers and language programs

CONFERENCES

Conferences provide a great experience being able to learn from and teach others about work going on in your language center or program. Conferences also provide the opportunity to collaborate on different projects.

RESEARCH COLLABORATION

Using the new website, participants are able to share research on different apsects of lanuage centers, language programs, and language learning.

2015

Conversations begin between UPNFM and other institutions around the world, converations begin to turn into collaboration.

2017

Webinars continue, network gains support.

2016

Idea of the network proposed by the UPNFM, official invitations sent out, and network formed. First webinar takes place in September, 2016.

2018

Webinars continue, and the first conference takes place in November 2018 in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras.

Matias Marin holds a Master’s degree in Education and a B.ed.in Modern Languages. He has been an English, Spanish and Portuguese teacher in Colombia, United States and Portugal. Matias’ areas of interest are Critical Thinking in ELT, Educational Coaching, English for Specific Purposes, Content and Language integrated Learning, Management of Virtual Learning Environments, English Didactics and Internationalization of Higher Education. NELIDA VALDIVIA MURGA - Arica, Chile (Universidad de Tarapaca)

Nélida is currently the coordinator of the English Academy at Universidad de Tarapacá. She has been working in this university since 2005: first at the Department of Foreign Languages teaching English Phonology and later on in 2006 as a teacher for the English Academy. In 2007, she received her Master’s degree in Teaching English.

Yuri Valladares Navas, M.A. - San Pedro Sula, Honduras (Universidad Nacional Pedagógica Francisco Morazán)

Currently Yuri is the Coordinatior of the English Program in San Pedro Sula and the contact there for the Language Center. He studied at the Instituto Tecnico Luis Bogran in Tegucigalpa. Then, he graduated from the UPNFM, where he received both his BA and MA in teaching languages. His research interests center around new tendencies in language teaching. He can be reached via email at yuvana2014@gmail.com.

About the INLCP

The International Network for Language Centers and Programs is an group of 16 language centers and programs from 12 different countries. It was officialy formed in 2016 by the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional Francisco Morazán, and managed by the Languages Center that is a part of the UPNFM.
